I have an extra set of 6 1/2" seperates that I would like to put in the door but I'm worries about mounting depth. Anyone running 5" or 6 1/2" rounds and what are the optimum mounting depths? Thanks.

6.5's are too big. i mounted a set of 5 inchers in the stock location. had to space them out about 5/8" so the magnet would not hit anything.;)

Sloan, I fit Alpine 6-1/2" in the doors of my 60 behind the factory grilles. From what I remember 1-1/2" depth is all you can fit if you still want the window to roll down :D you could always use a spacer on the cab-side of the panel if your dead set on using that set.

I run the 6.5" Infinity RSs in my front doors without spacers. Making a spacer is no big deal. A little 3/4" board and a jig saw and you ar in business. If you have grey interior I recommend grey flexstone paint to paint the spacers. I also run 6.5" Kenwoods in the rear doors where the ashtrays were.
