: wheeler's bumper with winch
M.Martian 03-24-2002, 04:26 PM Alright. I currently have a Wheeler's front winch bumper and am going to be picking up a winch very soon now.
Does anyone here have the Wheeler's winch bumper with a winch mounted? What winches will fit this bumper. I've taken some measurements and it looks like it might be a really tight fit on the passenger side of mounting bolts.
Rockrat 03-24-2002, 07:11 PM Fits most winches with a 10"x4.5" mounting base and max width of 22.5".
M.Martian 03-24-2002, 07:36 PM My concern is about the longside from the mounting bolts. The Warn site states that their winches are 162cm from the bolt to the end of the winch. Ramsey lists the Rep 6000 at 174cm and Rep 8000 at 163cm. My bumper measures approx 160cm. Based on these numbers the only one that will fit is the Rep 5000 which is 148cm.
I'm just worried that it won't quite fit.
ZuksRule 03-24-2002, 09:26 PM Do yourself a favor and don't buy a REP. They are junk. I broke mine several times. Then i sold it to a Jeep friend for cheap, and he broke it in half. I know of at least a dozen people who have had problems with Ramsey.

On the other hand I know a dozen that had no problems:flipoff2:
M.Martian 03-24-2002, 09:31 PM Thanks, that's good to know. I want to go with either an M8000 or an X8000i if they will fit. Some other's have said that both of those will fit.
I'm just going to have to find a shop that will let me trial fit one to make sure.

'member when they went to the Piano recital, and the musician through his white gloves into the audience?
each glove had six fingers, and the broad (can't remember her name-from pulp fiction) says : "he's the only one in the world who can play that piece, it was written especially for him".

TNToy 03-26-2002, 12:11 PM Hey, I've got a sticker similar to that one over my roller fairlead. It says some thing like CAUTION: Keep Hands Clear... and has that picture next to it.
Stole it off of a ramsey hawse fairlead and jb-welded it to the front bumper. :D :D :D
It's all about the looks. :bling-bling smiley: :bling-bling smiley:
You can kinda see it in this pic:
