91 YJ, originally 4 cyl.
I'm trying to hook up some wiring and I need to know the best way to find a source for ignition spots of run and start, for example, to wire in an electric fuel pump or electric fan. I have a start wire going to a starter relay so i could probably pop a relay on that if necessary. I don't know what to do for a keyed on/off source.

perhaps this is too hard for the newbie section?
Wire them to the run position - since this is where the key returns once you start the Jeep. It would not run if you wired your fuel pump to the acc position.

Find your fuse box. Use a test light to find a circuit that is only on when the key is on. If your test light doesn't light with the key off but does with they key on, you found it. Then use a fuse tap to add your circuit to that. Make sure your newly added circuit draws less amps than the circuit that it is on and it has it's own fuse.

My suggestion, look for empty spots in your fuse pannel for items that should only work at the given time. Once you find the lead you need, splice accordingly.

get out your meter and check the wires in the ignition harness. put a fusable link on the wires. run them where they need to go, and call it done. definately use a fusable link with heavy enough gauge wire for what you are doing...
