I just picked up a 8 lug semi float 35 spline c-clip 60. And i got to thinking what about pressing on 70 FF tubes and using the 70 shafts?? It works on paper will it really work?? Or should i just weld it and wheel?

didn't know they made c-clip 60's?? i thought they were reserved for :rainbow: axles like 35's and 10/12 bolts.

alot of 60's are c-clip..you just dont hear of them since most people build FF.

if you dont mind me asking..... why did you buy (presumeably) a c-clip d60 when the FF 60's are very prevelant??

I'm not sure if the housing size is the same. D60's are 3.175 and I think that D70's are 3.25. A little machining might be in order.

I didnt buy it I traded an old top that I would have never used. So it was cheap like almost free cheap. I will have to look into the tube size.

So here's one I've been dying to ask. 1TonJeep, what rigs came with 35 spline FF 60's? I've been pulling my hair out trying to find one but ever one that I crack open has eith 16 spline or 30 spline. Please, I'm going nuts here. :rasta:

In other words, don't hold your breath on a 35 spl FF 60. Almost all f250s from 1980 and up were 35 spl SF. Your only locker options are : weld, Lockright/ezlocker, or the Eaton E-locker...

Negative. J-4000's have 35 spline, non c-clip, semi float, 5x5.5 axles. :beer: :smokin:

it seems that the factory 35 spline FF 60 is a myth. nobody has one but many folks claim to have a cousin who has a buddy whos dad had one way back when but he traded it for a case of budweiser. i have heard they are out there but i have never seen one. i have a dana 70 FF rear and a 35 spline d60 front.
