Looking for info, and / or parts to convert a 6 lug chevy dana 44 front differential, most likely late 70's to an 8 lug setup to match the GM 14 bolt FF rear end. It is going into a jeep, so it only needs to fit the knuckles

lol yeah the serch does best
BUT, i will give you some help:
What you need is the late 70s 44 hubs, backing plates, and rotors OR you can use the 10 bolt hubs, backing plates, and rotors. Dont use the early dana stuff like pre 73 to 76/77ish as that stuff requires the external locking hubs and the longer stub shafts. I could be wrong on the last part but that is the latest date i believe. All of thise stuff will bolt onto a 1/2 ton axle and then you have an 8 lug axle.
Probably the cheapest way is to find someone with an already built 44 or 10 bolt front and buy it for cheaper then you can build it. I just picked up a D44 8 lug that has the internal locking hubs with 4.56 and a trac lok for $350. Thats a little high but for VA its a good price and the gears and warn premium hubs are brand new. I would say shop around for a complete setup before you piece together something.
It so often happens that you have to re gear and rebuild whatever you get that in the long run it is cheaper to just buy what someone else has already sunk a bunch of money into and is jsut lokking to get something back out of it.
