I'm no expert on these rigs but I'd guess you have
3.73 gears and a 4L60E trans if its a light duty K 2500. If its HD (GVWR 8600 or higher) I'd guess it has 4.10's and the 4L80E Heavy duty overdrive transmission.

T-case should be a NP 241, but not positive. But if you crawl under it, on the back side it tells you what kind it is and what low gear ratio it has in it :D

In the glovebox should be a bunch of codes... They tell you what your GM is made of, basically... Everything from engine/tranny/gear ratio, to spring capacity and emissions level. I'll look and see if I can find the link for decoding them.

Oh, and BTW, that suburban will tow the snot outta that sammi. My 99 K1500 tows my 84 FJ60 on an 18" trailer just fine...

Sorry... The codes only go back to 1998, but here is the link anyway... I don't think GM changed the codes much:

It should have a 14 bolt full floater in the rear, packed with 4.10 gears. The front is a "heavy duty" IFS torsion bar setup. Should have a 4L60E tranny and an NP 241 like the other guys said. Best friend has a 94 too that's what his has but he has the big block 454. Might change a few things. Makes a great tow rig for his Jeepster. Hauls ass up hills. Good luck hope you like it
