OK stock 350 on an 82 K10. Just put new heads, new dual plane edelbrock intake on, new wires, plugs, cap and rotor, And at the moment I have a 750 edelbrock on there. No idea what the Carb has been through. Just bought the truck a few months back and now am getting ready to get on this. The truck is loading up bad. at idle seems to run fine. idled at about 900. Floor it at idle and in neutral, its almost like a cartoon how much black comes out the pipes. Going down the road does fine besides the wonderful gas milage and fumes. Ok down on the property, just puting around, It does not like it at all. come to a stop and just conks out. COLD natured omg is it cold natured count on 15 min at half choke to pull it out the drive and not conk out. Hell sometimes it will idle for 10 or 15 min and then just conk out. lol damndest thing i have ever seen. OK here's the ? I now have a basically new 750 edel, And a used 750 Holley that were givin to me from a co worker. Is it possible the one on the truck is jacked up and need to replace it with the new edel or go with the holley or do what everyone has been telling me to do and go buy a New 600 Holley???? that the 750 is to big. Is 750 to much for a stock 350?? From what I understand A holley can be jetted down. Obviously i'm not a Carb guru!!! i'm sittin on 35's possibly 38's when i get the gears done just want to ride the trails, get the deer out of the woods, hit the bog holes fairly hard, and be able to pick my kid up from school somedays. I'm not a racer or a hard core climber in this truck just all around truck. What do I need???

sounds like it may just need to be adjusted.

what kind of heads did you put on? what kind of camshaft? what kind of jets are you running? Generic statments dont help very much. A 750 holley double pumper is too much, but a 750 Q-Jet is just right. So what EXACTLY do you have? Plus transmission, stall on t-convertor, and rear end ratio.

At least you can have a free flame thrower exhaust, get a buddy to stand behind you and light a match :smokin:

Yep, probably overloading. I got a edelbrock 650, works great. Ran rich out the box, but never had a problem.

aaa the new heads are just plain ole chevy heads but off of an 87, where the block is an 82, they have been reworked though. The tranny is a sm465 granny gear 4 manual. the edel 750 I have is (new one) is the 750 perfomer series edl-1407 manual choke. other than that i couldn't tell ya. like i said don't know jack about a carb.
