Have the front axle apart and the kingpins look good(no rust, pits, scratches).Do they wear out or just the bushing and bearings. The axles were out when I got them .
Thanks for any help.

If have your front axle torn apart that far, I would just change em. Buy a complete rebuild kit for the kingpins from a 4x shop or vendor. This is an example of a kit from parts Mike, check the tech section...have fun...:smokin:

i would definetly NOT replace the king pins, especially if they're in good shape. the plastic cups and springs, seals,......should be replaced but the king pins are a major biatch. first off, you have to buy the special 7/8" (i think) allenwrench for $25 which you will never use again. then, if by some odd chance you actually get one of the king pins to come loose, chances are it will crack at the top and split wide open. ask me how i know. those fawkers are in there!

just clean up the pin with some scotch brite, lubricate properly and run it.

Wimp--takes me 2 minutes with my 3/4 impact and a little heat for the real stuck ones. :D :D

Use a wheel lug nut and socket and a little heat to get out the king pins - would not replace them though if they look OK.

I would replace them if you drive it on street but if its a trail rig i wouldn't bother.

I also got mine out in about 2 minutes......applied heat to the knuckle and 3/4 impact.
