: Warn Vs. Ramsey? Opinions Needed!
Yota Tony 12-13-2005, 10:58 PM I need a winch, badly.
Can't decide what to get though. Alway been told Warn is the best, however some of Ramsey's stuff is nice.
Warn XD9000i (http://www.warn.com/truck/winches/src/XD9000i.shtml)
-OR-
Ramsey Patriot 9500 (http://www.ramsey.com/winches/patriot9500.html)
Which is the best to spend my cash on?
Gimmie your opinions on both.

cptyarderho 12-14-2005, 02:52 PM between those, WARN.
I bought a Superwinch, higher stall weight for the money and no issues.
Yota Tony 12-14-2005, 06:00 PM My cousin has a superwinch, he likes it.
Might be able to get a good deal on the 9000ti.
Pat98TJ 12-14-2005, 06:15 PM Warn is a better company with a better winch.
currupt4130 12-14-2005, 07:11 PM warn, nothing else
I have had my Ramsey ProPlus9k for 7 years with no problems. It is the slower design, but it has always worked. I have never had a Warn, so I could not recommend my Ramsey to be better.
I have a Dodge tow rig, a Samurai trail rig and a Ramsey winch. I like to be different. JC
greasysmitty 12-14-2005, 07:57 PM I know this doesn't help but... milemarker if you’ve got power steering. Pulled some crazy stuff with my MM 10,500 over the past 8 years and its never even come close to letting me down. No good without an engine though... but I’ve got a diesel that never stops : )
scout254 12-14-2005, 10:19 PM I've always had an excellent experience with warn on getting parts and technical help.
4x401cj 12-15-2005, 04:30 PM I have a Patriot 9500 and a 9.5 ti. The Warn is faster, but it`s certianly no better. I like them both.
rock-rod 12-16-2005, 05:38 AM Warn.
I have been using the same XD9000i for ten years now. It has never failed to work. It pulls strong and doesn't kill my battery.
Before that I used an M8000 and it was also extremely reliable.
Tellico can be hard on winches, so I went with the best.
0H THREE 12-16-2005, 11:14 AM There is no other winch Warn or nothing.
cptyarderho 12-16-2005, 07:01 PM There is no other winch Warn or nothing.
Why so?
FWIW, hydraulics are only useful while the truck is running, can be a problem.
Dr.Doom 12-16-2005, 08:13 PM I've got a Ramsey 9500# Total piece of junk.
Yota Tony 12-16-2005, 08:32 PM I think I'm gonna go with a Warn 9500ti.
My cousin can get me a good deal on one.
Kaiser5 12-16-2005, 09:24 PM Warn, all the way.
Ramsey customer service, if you want to call it that, SUCKS.
spaggyroe 12-16-2005, 09:36 PM I've never had a bad experience with Warn.
IMO they are the best. :smokin:
My Warn XD9000i has worked flawlessly for 5 yrs. now.
beyer05 12-19-2005, 09:38 AM Warn!
Yota Tony 12-19-2005, 06:55 PM Definately going Warn.
Any good shops to get one from?
Hardline43 12-19-2005, 07:35 PM I bought my 8274-50 from PORC. They are a vendor here and gave me a great price. Unfortanatly UPS was a little rough with the box and bent the freespool clutch assembly. With one phone call I had a replacement drop shipped red label directly from Warn! Awesome customer service and it was not even thier fault. They just took care of it.
ogreshooter 12-20-2005, 09:28 AM Boy, that sells me on warn right there...no questions asked customer service is hard to find.
Guess I will be buying a Warn
