Fabbing up some shackles and angers today. After I got done, noticed that on my brothers CJ5 there is a bushing in bothe ends of shackle. Mine has the spring bushings but will be straight to a 3/8 inch thick low profile mount... Thats fine isnt it?

Also, what about Grade 5 bolts for spring bolts (9/16th)? Didint think it is gonna be a problem either but Im goin to the store tommorrow morning...

Thanks!!!

the bushings are there to isolate road noise and to allow some give in the assembly, if you run without them you may be giving up some flex. also what are you running to allow for that movement? steel on steel will wear out under that kind of movement and make a lot of noise. I have seen em with brass bushings in the springs before, kinda cool but no noise isolation.
