So with that said, what would you call your POS fatkid?

O' my POS, I think it's Zuk. The only thing I have is those Toy axles, that leaves about 75% of it Suzuki. Ya think? Some of these guys are running coils, 22r's double stack toys, d44's, an extra 10-20" wheelbase, and the list goes on. Tell me thats a Zuk. Who knows.

Well lets see, I still got a zuk frame, zuk motor, most everything in the bellhousing is zuk,zuk body, even a stock zuk interior. Not zuk are toy axles, tranny and tcs. Consider what people on this bbs call a Jeep or a "Cruzah", with no original maker drivetrain left at all, tube chassis etc. In the end if Fat City can call it a Bronco, I have a LONG way to go until it aint a zuk.

Sure why not? People with Jeeps that have been heavily modified still call them Jeeps so why wouldn't the same rules apply to a Suzuki?

Zuk axles & Toy axles are made by the same company (Aisin). So 'upgrading' to Toy axles is kinda like going from a Dana 35 to a D60 in a Jeep, huh? <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">


And the Brand-New Samurai's in Europe come with a Peugot turbo-diesel option. Does that mean that Suzuki isn't selling Zuk's any more?

I am not denying anything - my truck started it's "life" as a Samurai, so that's what I usually refer to it as (either that or a P.O.S.) Anyway, for whatever reason you want to have this philosphical discussion about "What is Zuk?" Well, 'seems to me that if you're all about a vehicle being "ALL SUZUKI" then you should be 'wheeling a stocker with factory options. Once you start making modifications deviating from Stock, it is Not what the manufacturer intended the truck to be so you are 'violating the spirit of the designers' if you wanna look at it in a genetically-perfect way. Fine by me if somebody wants to keep his stuff stock - either it's stock or it Ain't.

For Me, I will modify my junk in a never-ending attempt to make it as best it can be for what I like to do with it. I will put the best parts on it I can afford or make, regardless of where they come from. If somebody don't like it, Who Asked You anyway? <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0">

I call mine a Zuk Hybrid. Not much Zuk left. Body has been modified, frame if modified, guess the only thing that I have not changed are the head lights, and they are round, so it must be a Jeep.........lol.

I think its what you make it. if it started out as a Zuk , it will die a Zuk.

If it started out as a pile of DOM, then its a DOM.

If it's the same one I'm thinking about it's forsale and posted up on Reo's shop in No Limit Off Road... it was yellow with 35x14.5 ssr's and toy diffs with three link coils in the rear and he wanted like 11 g's for it.. rip-off if you ask me.... sure seems like the same rig though

yeah I'd say we're talking about the same one. I saw it coming down the 99 likely from hut. He tried to pass me but I showed him the advantages of 200 hp! It was a pretty nice rig built with some good stuff. I don't think it had coils though (hard to stare at someone else's rig while driving the sea to sky!) I was just wondering since I'll be "finished" my rig by the summer and I'll be looking for some to wheel with that doesn't just have the basic sami package that most seem to have around here. Uzi and Caltow where you guys at? I'm split between Delta and White Rock, we've got a decent crew but we're always looking to find people to wheel with.

Just tell people what I tell them..From the frame up it is a Zuk...from the frame down is a different story...BTW I still run the Zuk engine/tranny/tcase...and all the sheetmetal (but the sheetmetal is about toet hacked)...YJ springs, CJ/Buick brakes, Wagoneer axles....
