rok-jeep 12-16-2005, 02:48 PM My vote is for the R.E. joints. I used them on my old rig and I have them on my new one. Though I get a killer deal on them:D Thanks Astar!!!!!!
Trailzuk_Qc 12-16-2005, 04:29 PM Hi!
R.E.
They have an adjustement screw. You can tight the ball on the cage.
Todd W 12-16-2005, 04:48 PM MAd4wd.com are very nice and affordable.
Beat95YJ 12-16-2005, 05:41 PM I have used both. the RE's are more like a bearing and seem to develop less play. they do transmit a bit more vibration though, and they are more expensive.
Check this rod end out
Extreme high misalignment rod end (64 degrees) Comes with a premium teflon lined race. These rod ends come with inner machined with high misalingment bushing. 12-12 rated at just over 29,000lbs and the 12-10 (3/4 male thread 5/8 thru hole) rated over 30,000lbs. No need for misalingment bushing on these.

jeepn4life 12-17-2005, 07:15 AM bull tear.. Those joints look really intersting. I have seen a lot of 3/4 joints for 40-50 dollars that are 20 degree or so. I am not even sure how much wheel travel you would need to requrie that much movement. I know your site says they are rated 30000 pounds. Is that lower than other comparable heims b/c of reduced body to get that high misalignment?
The body is as large as a 1" rod end so it looks slim but is very stout. These are rated 15% less than breaking strength so they should be great for alot of applications. The other joints you mention use a smaller body. Nice thing about these is that they are cheaper than any joint in their class yet just as strong and in some cases alot stronger. Hard joint to beat for the dough
Clanger 12-17-2005, 06:34 PM I cleaned the warehouse at my work out of the daystar flex joints when I was building my suspension. I love them. I modified 4 ftermarket lower control arms with dayster flex joints when I ran short arms and I loved them. then I went to building a long arm kit and I used daystar flex joints cuz they are awsome!
Clanger 12-17-2005, 06:34 PM BTW I have seen rubicon flex joints fail on the trail and I abused the piss out of the daystar flex joints and never had a problem
sixshooter 12-18-2005, 06:35 AM I am using a currie on my custom suspension and I love it. It is a 3", greasable, and chromemoly, so I am not that concerned about breaking it...yet. I was originally going to use an 1 1/4" misalignment end, but being that I was driving this on the street as well as on the trail, I didnt want to have vibrations. The buddy that helped me design my suspension builds road race suspension and he recommended to not use rod ends only if the vehicle sees alot of road duty as they tend to wear out faster and they will transmit a ton of vibs through them. On the cars that he builds that are intended for street use as well as race use he is currently getting away from using rod ends.

Also known as the Flex joint or Flexx Joint. Poly Performance, PORC and BTF have them... And the company is www.summitmachine.com
They're virtually identical to RE joints but the Flexx Joint has a better race material
