I was worried that my crossover steering set-up wouldn't work, but I Looked it over, cycled the steering, and I snaped some shots of it to show you guys.

Here's with the steering straight foreward

In the pic above and below I highlighted the spring pad mount in PINK!!!

In the pic below the red (on the custom steering mount) is where I will need to cut it to clear leaf springs at full LEFT (drivers side) LOCK

It is much less trimming than I thought would be necessary. I'm pretty stoked since I didn't design this set-up with leaf springs in mind :D:D:D:D

Also, in the second pic it looks like the drag-link will clear the leaf springs no problem!! I'm super stoked about this set-up.

Also I wanted to mention (a little of the subject) That my steering rods are ROCKSTOMPER (www.rockstomper.com) units and I lifted my truck SEVERAL times this weekend with a fork lift, using the Tie Rod as a lift point....NO BEND AT ALL!!!!

But won't your tie-rod "roll" when you try to turn?

When you want to turn right, it'll want to push down on the front of the tie-rod, rocking the TRE until it runs out of misalignment, then start pushing on it to turn.

When you go to turn left, it'll first pull the TRE mount UP, rocking the tie-rod ends the other direction, before it starts pulling across on the mount, making you turn.

Isn't that how this setup would end up working? A little extra slop in the system?

Like I said before, I never experienced those problems when the set-up was on my blazer, it was really tight. I thought I would have a little play, but to my surprise there was none. I even had my wife get in the blazer so I could watch it cycle, I thought I was just not "feeling" the slop, but it turned out there was none.

If I do start to get some slop though, you will be the first to know.

And I might experience some with the scout set-up since the Pitman arm and box won't be in EXACTLY the smae places, it may pull at a slightly different angle and cause problems. If so I'll work it out.

Quite trying to put out my fire damnit!!!!:flipoff2: ;)

Post a pic of the drivers side so we can see what the whole set-up looks like.

Here is the whole set-up. The draglink that is on there is a temporary one that I was using since at the time I didn't have the correct Pitman arm. But you get the idea. Just picture it with leaf springs.

Also in the pic above the draglink is resting on top of the pitman arm.

Here is a pic with all of the components highlighted.
