ive got a 92 XJ, 9" of lift, AW4, 4.6/4.7 stroker will be done by feb, D30/44 with 4.56's, and x-terrain 35's

im looking at the front axle and tryin to figure out what i want to do. as soon as my 35's are done i would like to run 38 SX's. so pretty much the 30 needs to be swapped but i dont know if a 44 is what i should be looking at or if i should go with more beef. i was thinking of just a waggy 44 front and just getting adapters for the rear 44, but im not sure if that will be a good route or not.

so far all that i wheel is trails, mud, snow. havent touched any type of rock crawling or anything super extreme yet because the rig is still my DD.

anything larger than 36's on a 44's is asking for broken parts...TSL/SX's are HEAVY and WILL break stock 44 Ujoints...you do not have to be doing something extreme to break a Ujoint - I broke two in my back woods on 38 TSL's just playing in the creek!

if you add up the cost for beefying up 44's with chromoly shafts, front CTM/300 Ujoints and nice hubs - you could pick up stock D60 F/R cheaper

yeah i want to do things right. i wasnt planning on throwin the axle on anytime soon. my plan is to get the axle and put everything together.

with going to 60's, wouldnt i have to swap brake master cylinders and run all new brake lines and such?

i dont want to spend $3000 on an axle or anything. i just plan on getting an axle strip it down and start buying parts and everything. i dont really have a limit but i dont want it to take forever to build it up either.
