I was there and I think Spectating Sucks! I won't go back and do that again, although I want to return and do some wheeling there, that place Rocks.
You couldn't see shit unless you camp out at one obstacle, you couldn't hop around and check out different courses, unless you wanted to be an asshole and push people around.
I guess it was OK in the morning, but later in the day it was elbows and assholes,Not very spectator freindly.
Just thought I would share :D
Maybe it's getting closer to some Stadium tours with trucked in rocks if it continues to grow.

I guess it all depends on the venue:confused: We went to the CalRocs event at Lucerne and the spectating was awesome:D From just about anywhere you could see all three courses running;)

I quiet agree with you, Rob.
But our local terrain with it's deep and steep chutes are what makes the place.
And yes, Friday's action plus the mornings are much more spectator friendly. The afternoon crowd and ESPECIALLY the
Saturday crowds are HUGE ... what a turnout!
The $5 spectator fee was a winner ... down from $10 per vehicle.
(take notes, Rich)
Since I was a photog there and had to roam for diversity, I did notice there were very few spectators on the B coarse which had some really tough gates. If one didn't roam to investigate, you wouldn't even would have known it was there.
Tip: When those big crows come in the afternoons, it's time to take a hike and spectate the ENTIRE coarse ... not just hang out with the crowd at the popular gates.
You can blame yourself for that mistake.
Maybe trucked in rocks, bleachers and beer would have been more to your likeing? :flipoff2:

I did get to check out all the rigs and BS with the drivers which was part of the reason for going,so it wasn't all bad.
I guess I was a little depressed cause my rig is down, next time I will tow my rig and do some after comp wheeling,or better yet get my shit together and enter:D
I am going to try and go to Vernal and catch the first day of action next time.
I guess I shouldn't bitch it was only 5.00 bucks for me and my boys, can't hardly rent a movie for that:D

Just give me a call, Rob.

Anytime you want to come down and play.
I'm getting to be a fair guide to some of the more popular local playgrounds.
It only takes me 5 minutes to get from home to the mouth of Choke Cherry Canyon. ;)
... or anyone else for that matter...
I'd go out and do a LOT more if I had someone to go with (for safety reasons).
It's just too easy to get yourself heels over head most places and no one should try anything too challenging while alone out there ...

$5????? Good Gravy! Admission to my next mud race is $12 PER PERSON. And the ones that don't have monster trucks as a side show are $8 per adult. $5? Damn, how I wish we could get away with that :(
