My good buddy has an 84 CJ-7 and was wondering what the stock gear ratios are. It is a 6 cyllinder with the Laredo package if that makes any difference. Any help is appreciated. Thanks :beer: :beer:

both my 1984 cj-8 and 1986 cj-7 (both with i-6) had 3.31 gears. the 84 had a T-176 tranny and the 1986 was an auto. matt

either 2.73 or 3.08 either way they are crap. if you want to know for sure you could always pull the diff cover and count teeth or look on the ring gear, sometimes it tells you. if you are really lazy jack up the back end. spin the tires (with your hand) count the ratio of tire rotation to drive shaft rotation.
