Hello all,
I bought a new '04 Rubi and have had a few problems with it that the dealer has not been able to fix yet.
Problem 1. Engine pinging: This occurred about 95% of the time on 87 octane. Dealer hooked it up to the computer and said the timing was out 15 degrees. It was reset and a month later the problem has returned.
Problem 2. Exhaust "pulses": The sounds of the exhaust (like a choo choo) were very noticable from the manifold side while driving. Dealer said header bolts and exhaust manifold bolts were loose. Tightened and when I got it back I can still hear the sounds though there is a 20% reduction maybe. I have had 2 TJ's before (97 and a 98) and this sound was never there, nor is it in another '04 that belongs to a friend.
Before I go back to the dealer I would like to see if anyone knows what would be causing this so I can go armed with more information when I take it back.
Thanks for the help!
Gary
