: yj rocker guards
90wrangler 03-25-2002, 09:44 PM i don't really understand of how you connect rocker guards underneath. i know you can put them on top of the body mounts but do you have to cut them, or can you just buy some special? plus i'm going to buy 5x5 angled steel and 5\16 thick, should i get something else or what, but i need it to be cheap also, any suggestions
aaronlosey 03-25-2002, 09:45 PM oro?
withamc 03-25-2002, 10:19 PM I used 4"X4", 1/4" thick. Cut it to length (fender flare to fender flare), weld some 3" plate tabs that will slide between the body and the body mounts. Slide it in, drill holes for the body mount bolts and drill about 10 holes along the top edge for some 1/4" bolts to bolt the angle iron to the side. Bolt it all together. It's pretty indestructible and cheap.
sanyi83 03-25-2002, 10:49 PM If you don't want the hassle of fabbing up your own. Bullet proof makes some good ones that are storng and mount on the frame. Chek it out. www.bulletproofmfg.com
RoCkSkuLLz 03-26-2002, 07:46 AM Just make some yourself, were talking about angl iron here  woopty do, drill some holes and mount them to the body. Its easy!!! :D

We go through a lot of things multiple times Matt....its a combination of retardation, dyslexia, and stupidity ;) :flipoff2:
And to answer your question, i never even put mounts underneath my rockers, just ran bolts along the body, and they hold up great to some serious abuse :p

 BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH I almost fell out of my chair! :D
WheelingPiazza 03-26-2002, 03:41 PM Just go with some 4x4 1/4 angle flush mount hte bolts on the body and you wont have a problem if you take up some of the space under the tub and rocker.
I landed square on the corner of mine full weight of hte jeep and I didnt even scratch the rocker.
cjhunter 03-27-2002, 12:03 AM And you wonder why the off road.com Jeep BBS has so much higher quality info avilable to its users in a much easier atmosphere, how about the fact that crap like this for a reason:
"We go through a lot of things multiple times Matt....its a combination of retardation, dyslexia, and stupidity"
"USE THE F@#KING SEARCH BUTTON!"
"Didnt we go through this on another post like 2 days ago? WTF?"
I think if you bafoons simply said "please try the search feature" it would serve everyone better. Or maybe if you simply replied, if you are strapped for time, which none of us are or we wouldn't be on here, you could just not reply. Ever thought of that. Besides the fact that you spend more time complaining about how no one searches then it would actually take to give the poor guy an answer.

withamc 03-27-2002, 06:49 AM Actually, I DON'T wonder. I DON'T find the info I need on other boards. Check this fact out: I've been on this board for 1-1/2 years. I don't think I've been flamed once. Why? Cause I read the Jeep Talk Mission Statement, I lurked for a while, and I use the search button before I ask a question. Accept this board for what it is, and if you feel more comfortable on offroad.com, you're more than welcome to hang out over there. I've never understood why people come on this board and complain about the atmosphere over and over. That's like going back to a bad restaurant time and time again and complaining about the food.
