So I bought the 20 gallon solvent tank at HF last night, and now I need some solvent. What do you all recommend? Thanks

I recommend a search. :flipoff2: Seriously, there's PLENTY of good threads out there. Here's one: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=421410&highlight=parts+washer

I use a parts cleaner solution sourced from my local petroleum distributor. Any decent-sized town has one, check the yellow-pages and ask for parts washer solvent. I have a second washer tank that uses aqueous solutions, and I have tried more than a few but am pretty much unimpressed -- the only onese that seem to work well at all require a heated bath. Still, I keep that second tank because some things don't like solvent...

Thanks... I was just seeing if there was any new "latest and greatest" type stuff out there. I got the HF one that says water based only.... well :flipoff2: that! Im just gonna go get some mineral spirits I guess. Thanks!

Umm... There is a reason that they suggest water based - it isn't rated for solvent based which is... ummm... FLAMMABLE!

If you want a solvent based cleaner, get a solvent approved tank or we'll see you on the next Darwin awards...

I got the one at Northern that said water based only. Took it back and $280.00 later got one that said to use solvents. If you really want to set your shop on fire get the odorless at Advance Auto Parts.
