scwafish 08-19-2001, 08:23 AM Dude! Did you sell your tires? I saw it yesterday with no rubber...what are you up to?
poppycock 08-19-2001, 12:20 PM sold the those tiny 35's. going to 38" sx's. decided it needed to be longer to run that tire. ditched the buggies in favor of the new drop bars too.

poppycock 08-19-2001, 09:45 PM sweeet! those 37" ssr are awesome tires. i definatly want to see pics of your prooject. i should have my tires by the end of the week if the guy at 4wpw wasn't yanking me. then the driveshafts come back in a week or so and it's go time.
fatkid 08-19-2001, 10:47 PM Hammers....Oct 13th and 14th
High5 08-20-2001, 01:11 AM i bet you have to cut more off the rear to clear the tires. no? looks like with tires it's still gonna rub. might have to cut it out staight out the back. i don't know but it just looks like it to me.
High5 08-20-2001, 01:12 AM oh and by the way it looks and sounds like it gonna be sweet!
poppycock 08-20-2001, 10:47 AM kinda like this? i have to finish cutting all of the wheel wells out still. and it looks like i'm going to have to cut my rear door pretty good as well.

High5 08-21-2001, 02:01 AM yeah i helped a buddy take his sami to a 97 1/4" wheel base and we were going to have to cut into the tail gate but he decided to just make it a flatbed so we cut the rear of the body off and just left the cab and the floor to the rear.
High5 08-21-2001, 02:14 AM one more question. i'm just curious why you didn't move the springs under the frame? i seems to me that it would have been easier being you refabbed all your hangers. it also allows for more flex (not that you'll need it with those drop bars). just curious. you'll really like the added wheelbase. i two buddys running 97" wb and d44's with their sami's and they both love it.
poppycock 08-21-2001, 10:22 AM you hit the nail on the head with that... it will have more than enough flex. the drop bars are getting limiting straps so i can make them go from none to 9". to inboard the rears i would have had to redo my spring pads on the axle... and i just didn't feel like doing that again(just redid the front). i'm cutting the roof off when i do a cage... at that point i'll probably go flat bed. who knows...
TATZOOK 08-26-2001, 08:01 PM are yo going to remove the rear door, or will it work still with the new custom bodywork?? do you have pics of the rear? i will be doing similar body work to my hard top and would like to keep the rear door useable. Thanks.
poppycock 08-26-2001, 10:50 PM until i do cage and can really start getting rid of the body i'm keeping the rear door. i just cut the hell out of it. as a matter of fact i have nothing holding the body to the frame from the seats back right now. i'll take a pic of it tomorrow. might even have the 38's on it by then.
TATZOOK 08-28-2001, 10:29 AM thanks....pictures will be cool.
poppycock 08-28-2001, 06:16 PM here you go... i basically just cut the body even with the fram rails and cut out the whole fender. once the new wheel wells are in it will have enough support back there.

poppycock 08-28-2001, 06:21 PM you also have to take out the gas tank. i'm just going to put a cell in the cab.
