: what year sidekick motor?

I want to do the 8v or the 16 v tracker/sidekick motor swap .When I call around what years do I need to inquire about.what years di the 8v and the 16v come in

1989 track/kicks and up. I think 92 and up are the preferable years cause they have a better cpu.

You cant go any newer than 95 due to the 96 being obd2

YOu can get a newer motor and put the harness from an older one on it.....I did that...96 motor, 93 harness, 95 distributer.
