If you are going to put new gears in that D35 you have I would not even bother you might want to get something a little stronger for your rear axle. A D35 and 35" tires are not going to last long so why would you want to waste money on gears.

With that set-up you'll want to get a Yukon Ultimate 35 kit for your rear.

Yeah, I just picked up a D44 rear end out of a 87 XJ. I'm building this up to replace my D35c. While I'm at it I figure I might as well do the gears and lockers. So which are stronger? Superior or Yukon?

I've only had experience with Yukon gears and never had any problems.

Brand dont mean a hell of alot if the guy setting them up dont know what the f*%k he's doing! But I put a set of yukon (4:88) in a toyota and there still hanging in there!

Have had good luck with Yukon, but the guys at Randy's R&P said there value gear are just as strong the only thing is they make more noise.
