: 350 Serpentine conversion?

I have done a search and have found nothing that can answer this question.

I have what appears to be a 87 TBI 350. Currently has 2 Vbelts and 1 serpentine. I am trying to find which serpentine setup will be the shortest because this is going into a M38A1 and I need all the room I can get. I will need the belt to run the water pump, PS, alt, compressor. I am not so much worried about what it currently powers but rather the dimension forward from the block. I have been looking at the 97 Camaro setup and found that the harmonic balancer is inside the crank pulley. Does this affect anything? It has a hub which connects it to the crank. Were there any changes to the crank/ bolt patterns on the block/ etc. that would throw any problems my way. What year/make and any special models is anyone using to make this setup as short as possible?

Thanks,
Kevin

if your gonna use one from a camero, u have to get all the brackets and acc. for the camero also, an LT-1 would also be the closest to the block, but same applies for the camero, i did the complete swap on an 81 K-5 so we weren't pressed for space, u might look into the brackets of a late model s-10 pick up also

Thanks for the reply. I am not concerned so much with brackets. I will most likely be using non stock accessories so they may not even work. My main concerns are the crank and water pump being as short as possible. I should be able to manage the rest, whether it be stock brackets or custom. So any information on crank and water pump serpentine setups that are the shortest.

check the 87 or 86 corvette, one is aluminum and the other is cast i think, they are the shortest ones i found at the parts store
