I am about to buy a 71' fj40, it has a colomn shift and i think a 2 piece hood, if anyone has any recommendations let me know what would be the best year to purchase or if the 71 is fine, also what all is involved in changing out the colomn shift into the floor shift and can a newer one piece hood bolt right up to the 71' model. From the pictures I have seen on the cruiser it doesnt look like it has the transfer case sticks sticking throught the floor, would I need to buy a new transfer case to get the sticks on the floor or is it the same case that comes with most cruisers and I need to add some kind of stick kit. Any help would sure be good since i have not bought the cruiser yet but plan to next week.
