I can't amswer if the taper will fit the stock arm on a CJ. Most likely it will have to be reamed out. I used the Snap On R121 reamer when I did the steering on my XJ. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?search=true&item_ID=8154&PartNo=r121&group_id=946&supersede=&store=snapon-store&tool=all

I bought a reamer from them, but I know they do a lot of work in house. Maybe you could set up something. They are great guys.

Good luck.

1 ton TRE will fit in a J20 pitman arm and a J20 pitman arm will fit on a CJ box. The J20 arm is a bit stronger also.

Alternatively, take the entire J20 box and pitman arm, rework the rag/bell joint and replace CJ stuff. Much better steering.

If you can't find want you need at the junkyard, Parts Mike has them for $79.95.
I have one on my CJ box and it works great.

If you need a flat pitman arm, look at Waggy arms. I swapped out my stocker for a Waggy and the taper fit fine with 1 ton TREs.

A YJ will fit a CJ and it has a drop.

I used the snapon reamer (R121) and a stock TJ arm-it had about 3/4" drop-the snap-on reamer is good for a few home jobs-but not if you want to do 15-20+ holes.

I used a ford F150 drop pitman arm, which came off of an old waggy I had, which fit on my YJ, so it will fit your CJ
