Well people could tell you alot more if you included some details about the pickup:shaking: I'm assuming it is a 2wd Isuzu pickup but without knowing the year it was made its hard to say what rear axle you have. Try reading the the FAQ thread (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=232723)which is the first thread at the top of the Isuzu forum or doing a search, both of these will lead you to a wealth of information about almost any part of your truck axles included. Welcome aboard:flipoff2:

Yeah I was just wondering cause I want to use this for my YJ swap it from a 89 2wd pick up Iam sure now that its a 12 bolt.... I really was just wondering if the 2wd came with a weaker rear axle.. But I guess not...

be wary of gear ratio differences between front and read. (see other threads)
eg some isuzu models came with 4.77s. don't think you can match them easily w/t non-isuzu parts.

does is have drums or discs, removable 3rd, etc? I didn't think the 2wd p'ups came with the 12 bolt.

Yeah,
I would double check that too....."THE 10 BOLT REAR WAS THE STANDARD SIZE ON ALL PICKUPS AND TROOPERS FROM 81 THRU 87 AND SOME PICKUPS UP UNTIL 95"......Matt posted that awhile back in the FAQ thread I didn't think that pickups came with that axle until later on.....if at all.

There was some discussion about this over at planetisuzoo relating to gearing options. The general gist was 12 bolts in most 2WD pickups 88-90, and most will have 4.30 gears except a very few 88-89s that came with 4.10s in them. Read more at http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/viewtopic.php?t=5824

I also read somewhere that there was a very few Isuzu 12 bolt rears with drum brakes instead of discs, though I can't locate the thread now. I beleive it was a single year, and IIRC it was in 2WD Amigos or Rodeos.

Well the one Iam looking at has disk brakes so Iam sure its a 12bolt it came out of a 89 2wd pickup...
