I have a 1998 S10 needs a new clutch, I've pulled a few clutches but never had trouble get it out. I have all the bolts and everything off or undone, I can twist the transmission back and forth, and have pull in off the input shaft about 1/2 inch but its stuck. Can you all give me some ideas? Thanks

Well I have done many of these and it could be a couple of things, simple stuff first. In those they run a fat wiring harness right over the top of the trans and they are held on with little clips from hell....make sure all of these are off. Next how far down did you let the trans come down before trying to pull? With the full weight of the trans on the motor the tall ass bellhousing just barely clears the tight ass fire wall. In fact i have had to put a jack under the front of the motor to actually lower the rear to reinstall the trans. If all else fails get a big ass pry bar and pop that bitch out, you arent going to hurt the trans unless it falls on you head:D Hope it helps....good luck

If you don't remove the dust cover, it will catch the flywheel. The shifter will catch on the floorpan. Personally, I wouldn't force anything. If it's not coming out, there is generally a reason. Check it out.
