Who has an Iron Worker and how do you like it?

I`m looking at them and they come in 25ton to 100+ ... What do you use yours most for and what's it rated at? Do you need more?

Lemme know!

What features did you use most?
What did you want to change?

we have a 50 ton at school and it just plain rocks i've been using it for 4 years no probs
with the one end you can you it as a punch press or brake and it has the shear in the middle and on the other end is the nibbler to fine tune you rough cuts (sure does make it alot easier cleanup with the sander after)
when i win the lotto i'll buy the same one other than that i have a lifetime usage agreement to use the one at school (teachers pet:flipoff2: )

I have a scotchman 90 ton unit at home. Mostly use it for the shear and
brake functions.

haven't honestly used it alot. yet. the punch function is really nice if you're
doing alot of the same sized holes in work. it takes about 10 minutes to
change punch bits. Mine came with a rod shear, and angle shear, the brake
attachment (mine is the 30" brake which is no longer available).

the slotted punches are really neat. there are also square punches too.

I really don't have an efficient place to arrange mine to use it often, so it
kind of sits alot.......

you should come buy and use it( then you will find out alot)

I did alot of research before this machine and the Porta Fab 45 is the Best bang for your buck. I looked into bigger machines but they dont change capacity untill you get into the 60 + tons to matter,

I do alot of suspension work ( alot) and it helps with all the holes I put into stuff
puching 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 inch material is a breeze speeds up production stuff fast,

I had a budget an I stayed right there.
I looked into every machine offered and could give you the diff benifits of each one
I have all the dies up to 1 1/2 and 3-1 toolshear and round cutoff and angle iron shear, 12 inch brake.

the 45 ton unit bends 3/8 plate with ease

once you have one you will wonder what you ever did without it
no more hole saw action LOL:laughing:
