Has anyone put a 300 series Mercedes TDI into any rover. I'm thinking of doing the conversion in a year or two. I can get the entire 1987 300D with a I-6 Diesel thats got 135k on it for about $2000 from a friend. I'd have the whole car to use as parts, and have the fab skills to probably make it work good. I'm just wondering if anyone else has used a Benz oiler in their Rover?

I'm putting a 300d in a 109/110 hybrid right now. It's not a tdi thought, it's an 85. I'm not familiar with the computer in the 87, but the combination of a D2 computer, the merc computer, the weight of a d2 and only 143hp for that motor, I'm not sure it's a good swap. Unless you don't mind going slow...
What trans did you have in mind?

Try this guy. He makes an adapter for the 616, and there was some interest in the 300. I don't know if he ever made the adapter for that one.

I have a 300 TD in my unimog. I weighs a hell of alot more than any disco ever was even loaded, and its still a rocket. The 300TD is a very good strong engine, especially if it was fueld and boosted.
