How hard would it be to put a 5.2L from a 4X4 Dodge p/u, motor, trans and trans/case, into a cj5. it current is home to a AMC 304. Help me out with what I need to change, add or completely do away with. Any direction would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I've never done this, but I would start with a measuring tape and a buddy. Find out how long the drive train is from fan to rear transfer case output. Compare that number with the same number for your Jeep. If you will look at the rear drive shaft on your CJ, you will find that it is quite short. If the Dodge drive train is more than an inch or 2 longer than the CJ, then you are going to have to figure out where that extra room is going to come from (stretching the Jeep, moving suspension, etc.). If the Dodge is short enough, then you will have to worry about motor mounts, transmission mounts, wiring harnesses, and probably a miriad of other things that I have not thought about.
Good luck on your project,

A friend of mine isntalled an El Cheapo Grand Cherokee V8, using a Ramcharger 727 adapted to the Dana 300. He's no electrical wizard, but managed to wire it up and have in running for under a grand (not counting the tranny).
