running a 44-19.5-16.5 bogger on a fullsize truck, put them on the stock 16.5 rims with the saftey beads (no i don't want to hear how they are supposed to be on a 12 inch rim cause I don't have those yet and its wheeling time now) how low a pressure tdo you figure I can get away with, I put in 10 and it still looks all aired up to me. will the 16.5 rims with saftey beads hold as well as the 15's do? can I get away with 5lbs and not pop a bead too often?

you may want to keep them on the skinnier rim, it will help hold the beads on. I have 38.5x14.5r16.5 SXs and i'm scared to run them below 10. I run them between 10 and 12 and have never had a problem...i'd rather not push it and end up with a blown bead though. Hopefully i'll be getting some beadlocks soon...

What width of 16.5" rim are you running? I have a set that were 7" wide. Now, I have Rockstomper beadlocks.:D With them welded on and the tires, they are about 8 1/2 almost 9" wide. If you are running w/ 10" wide and do the Rockstomper DIY kits you won't ever have to worry about losing the bead!! :smokin: Scott had told me knows quite a few guys on 16.5" on rims originally between 7-9" wide that are running his kits and they easily run the 14.5" wide tires and not having a bit of trouble. I have total faith in everything I have heard from the man so far.

What width rim are you running? Stock or aftermarket?

Thanks.

I'll be on the skinny rims till I build the locks to put on my shiny wheels, I'm just looking for a ballpark figure to start at, right now I am at 10lbs but the tire dosn't bulge the way i like. I'll keep dropping in 1psi increments till I lose a bead or two then go up 1.
or should I start at 5 and go up?
