ok so for my buggy I bought a polaris 440cc and all I know is that its from a 1970s snowmobile. All I know about it really is that it has dual carbs, it works and the model number and serial number. Does anyone know of any polaris info sources that I could find out the exact model that it came from so I can buy parts for it. I called a dealer and they were pretty worthless, they said I need a year and model. and if you wondering why I bought something that I know nothing about, basiclly It was real cheap for a working 440cc, cheaper then what I was gonna pay for a newer honda 250.

Yes you do need to get some numbers off the engine, to get any parts, unless you go through scrap yards.
