I know the weekend isn't over yet, but I'm not doing anything more....and since I rarely do enough
to qualify for contribution to the weekend update threads, I'll get this one started with what I did to
my '64. I accomplished at least a little somethin'....

Removed the beefy front Dana 27 and replaced it with a much larger SOA'd Dana 30. It's under the
truck now, but as you'll see, only about 37 minor things left to do before it leaves the garage. :D

How it looked when I got it home:

Swapped the rear a couple weeks ago (cool fangs, huh? :shaking: ):

Didn't really get too much accomplished this weekend. Drank way too much, plus pretty much felt like crap all weekend. But I was able to go out and do some more tranny schooling today. I was way off of thinking I had a T-98 wide to replace the current tranny in the T-all. The tranny I want is a T-19 wide. So maybe I can get some help rounded up for this coming weekend and pull it out of the donor T-ette.

I had a one day bathroom project turn into a three day nightmare. But I did find out that my shower door is custom made. :shaking: Anyone have a source for shower door strip magnets?

I can't help ya with the strip magents, but I feel your pain. I hate those simple little projects that from the start can seem so easy, and then before you know it your wondering if you have to consult with a contractor, or an architect.

FINALLY, was able to get a few hours in at the shop. Used an engine hoist, my hi-lift, 5-ton bottle jack, and a floor jack in a attempt to get my jack stands under the frame, (sitting on 16.5" x 9.75" rims, of course). Then, the engine hoist flipped and everything slid to the driver's side! I wasn't under it, yet, but these buggy springs suck for letting the front axle drop out. I removed the driver's side buggy perch after resecuring the rig & drilled out the front spring bushing. That's where I ran into a new problem, I thought the front springs were Ch*vy and bought the poly bushings for one. Now, I'm thinking stock Scout or other. The spring is 2" wide and spring hole diameter is 1 1/8". Anybody off the top of your head? New shackle mount will be 2 1/2", inside measurement. :smokin:

Not much work on the Scout this weekend but I did take it up in the hills and thrash it some. We got a little snow Friday and then it all melted sooooo----- MUD TIME. I guess I play in the rocks so much here in Utah that I forgot how fun the mud is. There were a few J**P guys out and you ought to see the look on their faces when they see a real 4X4.
Well that was it for my weekend. Till next time. S&R

If they are 2" wide the are most likely Scout. Chevy springs are 2 1\2" if memory serves me.

I went out to the garage and dug out a stock set of springs. The width and eye diameter are the same, but the springs on REDDOG are different. The ends of the leaf springs curl away from the pack unlike the stock Scout shtuff. I'll look for numbers next time I'm under there. :smokin:

Thursday I opened at the local paintball field, had a youth group of 15 come in at 4pm, then at 7pm they left and another group of 50 came in. Ordered 26 pizzas at 9, ate at 10, left just after 12. I got home just after 2am.

Friday opened again for another group, some help showed up and I left after an hour.

Saturday I don't remember anything during the day, that evening I watched tv and ate pizza rolls.

Sunday I went pack to paintball and reffed a few games, then my brother and I went out to eat with the field owner. Had me a big juicy steak and an ice cold beer, then went home.

No Scout work for weeks now. I need to get the Christmas decorations back in the attic and make room to drag my front axle inside for new gears.

It's been a wild weekend for sure. windy/rainy/nasty. I got my 73 front grill all clean and sanded, hammered out the dents. it's ready for paint. Spent time with family. lost two section of fence when a post gave out, snap clean off, not even rotted:( Now I get to fix a broken window too. Plus more fencing on the other side of the house needs to be fixed.

DJ sorry to hear, peace to you and your family during this grieving time.

I actually worked long hours (salary though) all of last week...Even X-mas eve and the day after X-mas.

Worked this Saturday till about 12:00pm...Then headed to a friends house for a low key place to drink.

Good thing is that we are into the New Year...I will be able to pay my bills...and actually work on my Scout this month...

Lots of little things will be getting done in the next couple of months...in no particular order:

Beadlocks
39.5 Iroks
Anti-wrap bar (to control 39.5's)
bling headlights
more tube work
Tranny
Dana300 with 4:1's
Tow rig
Trailer

ohh and working right now... At least it is from my living room...and for only an hour or two.

Friday night I pulled the PS box out of Rock Scout. Saturday Dan and I pulled it apart, ported it, and then "rebuilt" it. It got pretty hectic on putting back together, we didn't have any issues with the balls it was getting the valving piston back in with the teflon rings. I spent Sunday in Corvallis with firend and then yesterday fired up my 74 pickup for the first time since I have had it. Sounds great and appears to be running well too!! I also picked up a set of tires for it on Friday, so we'll be driving soon. Today the starter went out on my Diesel, so I am bailing from work and fixing that:mad3:, I didn't want to be working on a truck today, but I guess the IH gods had different plans.

Believe it or not I actually worked on IH shit this weekend... between tons of other projects; New Years parties, brunches, honey-do's, work on the rental house... oh-ya, and we completely took down and put away Christmas... that's about a day long project on its own.

Didn't even touch the Scout (I think quite literally), but I did fire up the Travelette from its exile on the side of the house. Gave it a bath, turned it around and backed it into the wife's side of the garage (well, 1/2 of it :D) finally started installing the trailer hitch I got from Fleck a while back (what, 5 months ago now??). Kind of a PITA, which it why I never got in on in the first place. I had to remove the 1/2" steel angle plate some PO bolted to the back. Then remove the spare tire carrier (can we say cut, cut), then it wasn't a simple bolt-on deal (oooh, I had to drill holes). After work today I cut a notch out of the aforementioned 1/2" angle and slide it back up in place after upgrading all the bolts. All in all it turned out much better than I thought, just about perfect. Took a little longer than you think it would, but there was lots of bolts and crap that needed to be cut off. But the good thing is that means the t-lette is that much closer to tow status :bounce: now I just need to finish the body work, swap out the leaky POS auto and go through the brakes and I might just be in business... that will be nice.

Also got over to the other house and got the KB-7 running again, after cleaning and rebuilding the fuel pump. The bowl of which was filled with rust, dirt and bug parts . Needless to say I'm bypassing the fuel tank till I can drop it and clean it out. I even drove the thing around the yard in its preparation to bring over to my house so I can do brakes and some other little things so I can USE IT!! (that should be a fun trip, good thing its only 2 miles away :D). Also set up a tent building for the t-lette (only 3 IH's over at the other house at once, wife's rules... she's rather there only be 2 :flipoff2: )

For once in a long time I think I had a quite productive weekend, didn't really want to go back to work today. I think next weekend I get a do a little wheeling :D
