I started my project rig. Im no longer going to be wheeling the sammi anymore :( . Im putting the engine and trans back into the donor truck plus a few other things. the nissan truck is going to be running rockwells with shaved pumkins and detroit lockers full hydro steering. So far it going to be YJ springs in the front and three link rear with coils. this is what i have so far

Im going to run 39.5 boggers on 15" beadlock wheels. right now im working on the transfercase, im going to swap in a samurai transfer that has a 4:1 kit in it. i was going to run dual cases, but this might be a lil bit easier to do. just have to see.

You think the sammi case wil hold up? I thought about using one of those behind my TX10 for its 1.12:1 high range but it was deemed too weak to hold up to the abuse. I would like to see how it works out.

That's one nasty looking rig! I mean that as a compliment.

Out of all the good stuff I've seen in this thread, I would say those rear bottom coil buckets/retainers are the best. haha, I don't think those springs are going anywhere.

shave the axles to save some weight and not be digging ditches.

also, might want to consider modding the sami t-case mount - like making something to bolt to the 4 holes around the "pto flange" otherwise it'll probably be a short life before the case rips open.

hey man thanks for the pics, considering that was the 1st time the truck has left my shop...everything worked well, few bugs to be worked out. I did figure out why it was running a little bit rough on low rpms, there was a broke vacuum line. i think my next trip is going to be tellico sometime next month.

i didnt use an adaptor, i mounted the sammi case to the back of the nissan case, i just redrilled the flange on the nissan case"the rear drive flange" and matched it to the input flange of the sammi case. I'll get more pics soon, ill be going to tellico this coming weekend july,7-9, so ill get some action shots too.
, so far everything is going good, im glad that i built a nissan, not a yota, too many yotas out there for trail rigs.

Hey, you have a sick rig! I followed it earlier in the year. I've been building a turbo diesel d-50/power ram 50 on rockwells and 42 tsls. From the pctures it looked like it worked well and it looked good. Were you happy with gear ratio in the samy case? Did you have enough power?
