According to warns axle chart, a short side axle from a 69-78 cheby 44 the exact same as a 71-77 Early bronco.
Length 18.31
Part number 38809
Well I just picked up an 8 lug cheby 44. I pulled the short side axle, and when I measure from the end of the axle to the center of the cap, I come up with 18.56 (18 9/16).
Are my eyeballs crooked, or do they just have slightly different measurements on their alloy shafts?
Anyone have an EB short axle handy that you can measure? I'd just hate to be out on the trail and find out my spare doesn't fit!
I know the short side axle from a full size ford will work, but the end needs to be ground down a 1/4" or so. Warn claims these axle to be 18.91
Is anyone aware of another axle lenght chart?
