hey all,

so far i've
-bought and installed a 4" lift.
-gonna trim the u-bolts for clearance
-trimmed the rear quarters of the bed for clearance

some options are

-get the rear welded/install rear locker
- buy some cheap 33-35's..
- get some cheap seats and 5 point harnesses

any other full-size mod ideas?

rocks and mud(when avail.) are the substrate of choice...

Yeah........but a lot of those guys will actually PAY YOU for the crappy tcase that you will swap out for a good one!!!! And they buy the other crap that you want to get rid of.....like the crappy vaccuum tcase actuator.......lame assed carb........gas tank....etc.....etc.....you would be amazed!!!!! I've seen flat top knuckles go for gold over there.

The link that I sent you was my buddy's build up. He started with a Golden Eagle version and cut the CRAP out of it. You should have seen the comments he got on that board for THAT one!!! :barf:

Sorry..................I'm getting off topic...........

3" square tubing, cut into 3x3x3 pieces. easy body lift. drill some holes for the body and weld the mounts to the frame after it's bolted down. with the 4" lift (hopefully you bought the Skyjacker kit with all 4 springs and the Hydro shocks) you can fit a 39.5" tire. Chevy 1ton or 3/4 ton axles are a good swap for a J-10, you'll just need to weld on new spring perches for the rear. (and figure out some shock mounts) I flew mine for over 40 feet with this setup and it landed smooth and wheeled great. I only ran 35"ers but the 39.5s would fit with flex.

I'll bet you could do 35's easy with a little persuation from a sawzall and a hammer. Turn-up headers thru the hood would rock too.
