I need to replace my defroster hoses that go from the heater box to the air nosels at the windshield. I found them on British Pacific's website, but I got an e-mail back stating that they stopped selling them long ago. I have gone to all of the Land Rover parts sites that I know of (Paddock, etc) and I couldn't find anymore. Does anyone know where I could find some?? I need ones that are 1.5" in diameter and about 4' in length. The hose gets a bit smaller where it connects to the heater box, which is making it harder to locate replacements. Brit Pac informed me that there are aircraft hoses that fit but I need them to have that female end that fits into the heater box. Can anyone help, please??

Where are you located? I have a aircraft parts surplus store near my house that has hoses that I used for my heater on my 88 and 109. They are wire reinforced. They fit right over the outflow nozzles. It has been years since I have bought them there but I could go take a look. How many feet do you need?

The napa stuff is crappy if its the same stuff they stocked a while back. Aircraft spruce sells tubing they refer to as SCEET" that worked well for me, but its a tad spendy.

I am currently located in Germany. I am in the US Army :beret: stationed over here, so I can still get stuff shipped at state-side cost but the USAF isn't exactly the fastest shipper. I would appreciate you looking into that for me, if it isn't an inconvenience. I could always get it shipped to my girlfriends house I guess. Guessing here (because the old hose disitigrated when I pulled it out) I would say I need two 4 foot sections, and they are 1.5" in diameter. The thing that concerns me is the attachment of the hose to the heater box. Thanks.

I am interested in any hose that will work. It is getting cold here in Germany and I end up using all of my newspaper to clean off the windshield before I even get to read it all :(

I have never owned a landie with a heater, so I don't know what it looks like, but if you can post/email some pics and dimensions, I can probably dig out something here that will work - lots of hose lying around.

Ben,
Here is a link to the diagram that I pulled off of Brit Pac's web-site. It's a PDF file and on page 67, #2 on the right hand side. The one I need is 1.5" in diameter and about 4' long. Thanks.

Thanks for the link. I e-mailed them because it would appear that I need to buy a $50 minimum, which would be a lot more hose than I need.

Just e-mail them for a stocking distributor, and buy it by the foot.

I will try and get by the surplus store today and take some pics. They are super durable but a ugly rust color. I will get a price for you too.

I will have a look at what I have, may have some silicone hose close to that size (everything I have here will be metric though).

I used generic preheater hose. The stuff that goes from the exhaust manifold to the air intake on some vehicles. Its a metalic accordian tube. Right size. Cheep. Lasted 5 years so far.

McMaster Carr has a dizzying array of hose for you to choose from. I was able to find defroster hose w/ a flat wire spiral core and a large diameter hose to go from the breakfast into the kodiak. No fabric hose like the original, but it held up well and looked good.
