: Mystery drill-press part

This was left over after assembling my new 16" drill press. Feel kinda dumb for asking, but does anyone know what it is for?

The pen is just for scale. The part is roughly 3/16" thick.

That is a Drift for removing tapered sleeves from Drill Chucks and the like. Also for removing the drill chuck from the spindle.

That is for whene you have an over size bit that will not fit in the chuck so you tahe the chuck out and stick the bit up the shaft to get it out you hamer that in a slot that pushes out the bit (via the ramp part)

I beleve that is what it's for

Only it the drill has a tapered sleeve or shank like this one:D
