just bring the whole wheel to America's Tire Co and they will install it for a couple bucks, you don't have to get dirty or screw with mounting the tire....

See if you can find the metal valve stems that have a nut on the inside of the rim, and rubber O-rings to clamp it to the rim. I found them at Car Quest here in town.

No more worries about the rubber ones bending at low PSI when clipped by something, and eventually having a constant leak. And yes, you will need to break the front bead only to put in new valvestems, so no mount and re-blance nessecary.

You can some time force a rubber one into the hole without popping the bead. I like these better then the steel one because if you smash it it will give rather the tear off. You just force the old one into the hole with a screw driver, grease the new one up and force it into the hole.

If you are really a pimp you can weld the origional hole closed and then mount a new steel one in a hole more to the inside of the wheel, harder to air up but better protected.

Have you guys seen the valve stems that unscrew from the wheel leaving only a little nub sticking up maybe 1/4" high. The stem screws into the nub for when you need to fill, release and check pressure. Nothing to rip off.

They are made by Gorilla and you can get them from FLY-N-HI in Phoenix. 602-272-2433

Those little nub ones suck! You have to screw a second valve into that valve to air up and it is so restricted, it takes FOREVER to fill a tire. They also leaked. When I was unsrewing the little cap one time, it unscrewed the hole valve assembly and caused a huge leak. These are just my personal experiences. Good idea, poor execution.

..I use these on the Cruiser and the Blazer!!.I have had them on the Blazer for over a year now!!...They have NEVER leaked!!...I have one stem to air up and one that is hollow to air down!!..The only downfall it takes a LONG time to air down!!.....I really dont care on the Cruiser!!..The tires are always aired down!!...

They leak, are restrictive, and don't lose the screw in part!

You are killin me......You mean they sell rubber stems, that get stiffer at higher pressures????

get some alcoa's......valve stem is already toward the center of the rim
