I saw some shackles in my man-it aint free catalog and was wondering what the triangle shaped shackles are all about? they are also greaseable, is all this necessary?

I saw some shackles that were designed that way to be used for flat towing. Kinda cool actually...
If your suspension is designed properly you should not need them...

yep- anti inversion for the mal-engineered suspension or for tow bar brackets.

i have seen two types, the tow ones from con-ferr, which point outward, then the anti-inversions which point inward.
anti-inversion keeps the shackle from flipping in on itself shoving the spring into the frame on the axle side, which usually results in bent springs.
