Since it looks like the 'Cruces trip won't happen, is there any interest in trying to put together a more successful run at the Rubicon this summer? I still want to do it and it seems like every year could be the last year for it.

If we make it in late August or September I would be happy to host a party and house a few out of towner's at my cabin. It's in Agate Bay, about 12 miles from the Tahoe trail head.

That would be cool! The National Rally will be in late September so it would have to be earlier. Maybe the week before so folks like 'Tis could make one trip out for 2 events?

extremely interested - my work situation has changed too to make this much easier. i could probably do both the con 'and then catch the first day or two of the rally.

Count me in. If anyone needs a place to stay for the night, we live about an hour and a half away. That will be my new rigs maiden voyage. If she falls apart, I will bring a shovel and burry her on the con RIP

Sooo, the 27-30 Sept dates are Wednesday to Saturday .... if you do the Rubicon trail before that it would make more sense for folks coming from the east :) .... say, 24,25,26 Sunday to Tuesday??
Can you tell I have no idea how much time to allow for that trip :shaking:

Which rig will you be bringing? The Range Rover?

Since I try to be consistent in demonstrating my ignorance ... should we be keeping an eye on http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428437 for conflicting events??

I am interested. Could take the family to visit the inlaws in bakersfield and tow the Rover along. Would be easy to then sneak away for a few days.

Larry, good question. That depends on if my wife wants to go (with 1.5yr old twins). If not, I will be bringing the little (really big) one:smokin: That would make for a less stressfull trip. I should have both of them ready to go by then. If anyone needs a place to prep their rigs when you arrive, I'm sure I have enough tools to go around. Look fwd to meeting everyone. Daren

The trail is kind of quite after Labor day. What kind of turn out should be expected?
