404 upper bearing preload.

How do you check the bearing preload on the upper portal bearings? There are shims behind the bearing race in the portal box aswell and behind the bearing/seal retainer in the axle shaft. What clearance or tension should I have there?

Im not 100% sure you need measurable preload, but the shims are behind the smaller bearing race. Ill chsck the book when I get board and let you know

Bearing play should amount to 0.08+_0.02mm Always try for the smaller play
