Just got back from my first trip to Moab. I guess its time for me to break down and get my little red star.. I'll be posting pix here soon, and on my site. I was a little apprehensive about the wheeling up there because everyone told me it was more of a longer wheelbase type of wheeling, but my little Suzi did just fine. I crawled up some crazy steep slick rock no problems.. man I love the traction up there.

On a side note, passed Dave King on his way up on my way back down.. can't wait to see what he breaks :)

I saw him (and a few other of the Xtreme4x guys) at the Suzuki on the Rocks event last August at the Rubicon. That thing has insane amounts of travel with those drop away coils.

Yeah, I hung out at the Wazuks camp site with Bobby and Erik (ZOA guys) for a while Saturday night. They were sitting around fixing broken Zuks, drinking beer and watching videos from earlier that day. They all seem super nice, and that brown coil sprung thing sure seems to work well. Hopefully I'll hook up with them sooner in my trip next year and get some more pix of their stuff :)

Sorry I still haven't gotten all the pix scanned in yet guys.. been busy for me. I was forced to call in sick Friday and run Upper Ajax and Lower Woodpecker (backwards) and then I had my arm twisted and ran Predator and Upper Terminator today. I'm scanning pix as we speak...

I caught up to them on that night run on Hell's Revenge and got to see the rather interesting Endo. I found them part way into the trail, and most of the Zuk pilots were out of their Zuks chatting and trying to locate the trail. But Stomper was cruising around in his Orange Zuk. Driving up a steep hill and cruising down at a pretty fair speed.. It was pretty funny to watch.

Eventually we started moving, and I followed Stomper up a pretty steep climb. Yikes.. None of the others came up the climb. This is when I found out that you shouldn't really follow Stomper....

Anyhow we lost some key parts of the trail, but did locate Escalator. A series of bowls in a large V-notch. It doesn't look hard, but in a SWB in the dark, it is a good challenge. Stomper tried a couple of lines, and on his last attempt he took a bad line and over she went. The luckily after one full rotation the Zuk stopped on it's wheels. Another rotation would have sent him off a large incline, and would have resulted in atleast 5 or 6 more rolls.

The roll bar worked GREAT, and the damage to the vehicle was actually rather high including a smashed left front corner, and rear suspension damage. About 45 minutes later, and the rear suspension was vice gripped and duct taped back into shape, and the front left corner was bent away from the tire.

After the endo, the first comment from the driver was if it was caught on video. (Yes it was!)

Had a great time out there!!

I kept missing everybody, but can't cover too much territory with my totally stock Sidekick. Here it is on the way to Chicken Corners...

Who knows.. I saw a Toyota that looked just like about a day later. I think there was one a day.
I also heard about another rig that did the same thing, seems the driver and passenger were trapped in the vehicle as none of the doors would open. Once they got out of the vehicle, they headed into town, cut off the roof and such and installed some shitty roll cage. I understand the welds looked like bubble gum. Sounded like they were trying for certain death the next time around.

figured i would bring this back for a sec so everyone could see a couple seconds of that sami coming over the top of potato salad hill. he had some trouble down at the bottom though. its only a couple seconds though, the rest is other junk getting wrecked on the hill.

make sure you download the divx codec first, then watch the movies. enjoy!!
