I have a neighbor that is looking for a HP60 for his 95 F250 truck. I noticed that the few I found were listed as fitting 91-92 or 93-94 or 96-97. What changed on this axle to make it only fit those years?
I dont think anything changed at all after the ball joints were added in the late 80's early 90's. Would the early kingpin stuff also mount up to his 95 F250 the same way. Maybe the brakes or trackbar bracketry changed?
I am hoping that someone can clear this up so I can get an axle ordered for him soon.
I dont know how I get mixed up in this stuff. I guess my neighbors see me in the driveway wrenching on my junk and think I must be able to rig anything.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Eric

anything from 86 to 97 will bolt up . 92 to 97 had ball joints 91 to 86 had king pins. it will bolt in just need to get track bar and bracket for his year . brake caliper mounting style is different over the years but all will work.

Did spring pad spacing not change at some time as well?

the 78/79 60's had about a 31" spring pad spacing, and the 86-97 60's were all the same at about 36"...or maybe it was 36.5"?

they started using bj's in 92. all ford 60's used slide pin calipers until 95...they used bolt on calipers from 95-97:grinpimp:
