Guy's whats easier...cutoff wheel or sawzall? Never had to remove them and this is what I have access to...and most importantly and tips? My plan was to cut the flat part off with a grinder the use a sawzall to clean up the flat parts the grind flat and smooth and reweld....do I need to pull the axle apart to weld or just go slow and keep the heat down???
Thanks......

Just grind the welds till you see a crack then hit it with a BFH.

I've had good luck just grindin the welds, then hammerin on em w/ the BFH, It rips the tube a bit, but just weld that back in, and u don't even need new perches, just clean em up a bit ,put em where ya want em and blaze away (if you are keepin leafs) how can u go wrong there???

I have two grinders: a 4 1/2 angle and a 2" air grinder and mounts that are near and don't think I can save them and their only 20 bucks to replace......will try this weekend and reweld them to correct my angle problem...keep them coming!

I used the 4.5" angle grinder and BFH. Rotated and welded them right back on. It takes a little while to get the welds completely ground down.

if you got an arc welder get some magnesium cutting rods. easiest and cleanest way to get them off

4" angle grinder, 4" cut-off wheels, and a BFH once the welds are fully cut.

Torch them off and make your own new ones.
Its real easy to do if you got access to the torch and welder. All mine are home brew.
