I have a 92 F250 diesel and when I use the heater or AC I smell unburnt diesel in the cab. I can also smell it from outside the truck like I have a fuel leak in the engine compartment but I can't seem to find it. Any suggestions as to where to start looking?

im not to sure on deisels, but on a gasser this is how i would do it. hook up a fuel pressure gauge to it, then turn the key on to prime it and shut it back off. watch fuel pressure, see how long it takes to drop, if it goes slow, then i would geuss its a leak after the injectors or somthing. if it drops fast, then id say its in the delivery part. just how i would do it on a gasser.

Check the up pipes on the backside of the turbo. These are very prone to leaking.

No turbo on 92's although that would definitely be nice.

Have you pissed anyone off lately?
you can dump stuff into a vehicles air vent and the smell willtravel into the cab {ie: your problem}. Just an idea that you may not think of.

Check your fuel filter. My buddies started leaking there.
