: And some think I'm a hack. Shopboy's Rangie fuel pump wiring

So after screaming at the kid for what seemed a week, his '93 SWB is running again and ready for core support/inner fender welding. He and Shopboyn (that's supposed to be a subscript n) put everything back together and try to start it-no dice.

Long story short, no power to fuel pump. When they put the engine compartment back together, I noticed this suspicious piece of wire that looked like it had been attached to the condenser at the coil. Turns out a PO had powered the fuel pump from the ignition coil, bypassing the inertia switch, etc!  :shaking:  He didn't even splice it into the circuit, he stuffed the wire under the spade lug!

I suspect the cause of this was, of all things, a bad relay! I'm afraid of what else we're gonna find.

It wasn't "Them", but the guy we got the truck from.

These two are the ones who did the re-wire on the burned up Disco with very little adult (?) supervision. While they're not as good as you and I are at finding problems, they can take it apart and put it back together again pretty good :flipoff2:. They even know how to use a test light AND a DVM!
