I tried bending some 2" OD DOM with .250" walls in my JD2 and all I managed to do was ripped the mounting studs out of the concrete in my shop floor :eek: using an 8' cheater bar. Has anyone succesfully bent this shit without a hydraulic setup????

Ditto... model 4 hydrualic set up here.

Just make a 1' x 1' 3/8" steel base plate with lots of concrete anchors. :D

Just wondering why the heck are you using .250" wall? If you're building a roll over hoop for your John Deer... no problem, but if part of a cage on a trail rig.... might want to rethink this one.

The Hossfield dies that are dimensionally the same as the JD2 dies and about the same price bend 2" solid in production all day long. They wear out just as fast bending tube or bending solid. I don't know about the JD2 dies but I don't think they will break either.

how much did that set you back?

I bet that is for his lower suspension links of a four link, it is pretty reasonable for that on a heavier rig I think.

Bingo, heavy rig with a big block and throttle happy driver :D I'm trying to bend the upper wish bone 3rd link to more of a dome shape instead of a tri-angle for clearance reasons.

It's not really that expensive, $55.00 for 10 ft. at ABC supply in Sac. Compared to the $12.50/ft. AIM in Woodland wanted it was a :smokin: deal. I Also picked up 11 ft. of 1.25" .250 DOM for my tie rod/drag link for $50.

These guys say they bend 2" solid with a JD2

I would hope you won't be using a 110 mig to weld that. That 2" .250 wall is total overkill but you will be fine post pics when done. I wanna see.

Not without hydro, but I have bent it in a JD2 model 3. Mine has a 3" ag cylinder on it, though... I built my own hydro.

I used a triply nickle pipe bender or you can call it a side winder,electricians use them for bending rigid condiut, industrial sparky's usually have one.anyways they are sweet, and no hassle to use, and they don't mess the pipe up ,10" radius on 2"
