I have an 05 ram 2500 w/ 24V cummins. I have put a chip in it and now I want to install a pyrometer. The search has info on the 12V but I was wondering if the manifolds were the same for the 12V and the 24V because I just want to make sure there is enough material for the pipe thread to seat in the manifold. any body have advice/pics.

Check at http:www.turbodieselregister.com or http://www.dieseltruckresource.com.

My 99 24v CTD has had a pyro for the better part of a year, with no problems. I can't speak for the 3rd Gens, but there's a web in the center of the collector, right before the turbo mount. Drill one side or the other.

No they are not the same, there is a flange down the middle of the 24 valve manifold. You need to drill off to one side on the 24V's.

There are pictures on the web of where to drill.

Yup, my pyro probe on my Cummins is just off-center on the manifold. There is PLENTY of material to tap in to. That cast is thick.

Both 12v and 24v have the web in the collector of the exh manifold. Drill your hole about 1-2" back from the turbo mount flange, and about 1/2- 3/4" off center to either side.
