Mark, my rockers were removed, then I cut the inside seam up. Took some 2x6x3/16 box and ran it lengthwise. Used 2x3x3/16 (3) and welded to the frame. Kept the 2x6 outboard a bit (inside edge at inside 'seam') so I push off rocks and can use them with a hi-lift w/o crushing the body :D I'll get pics after work if needed.

Here is a pic of mine, it's 2x5 rec tube welded to the tub, it's out about 1" from the door and there is about 1/2 below the doorjamb.

Well I already replied in your thread over on classicbroncos.com but I'll copy it here for anyone interested in this thread that doesn't make it over there.

Great article Dusty, I tied mine to the frame directly, same principle though ;)

I built these a few years ago and have been very happy with them.

materials were 2x4 x 3/16 and 2x2 x 3/16 with some 2 1/2 reciever tube at the frame so they are removable. I built heavy because my cage is tied into them.
another pic to show frame mount
